BIOTEC BOARD GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

Biotec Services International has expanded its board of directors by two as the company prepares for extensive 3-year growth programme to 2012.

Chief Executive Officer, Keren Winmill and Finance Director Ravi Nalliah, have been promoted to the board as the company projects an increase in turnover from £3 million in 2009 to £7million by 2012.

Chairman of Biotec, Phil Roberts said, “The decision to invite both Keren and Ravi to join the board of directors, is a crucial step for Biotec as we prepare to execute our three year growth plan.”

Keren Winmill, who won the science and technology category of Welsh Woman of the Year in 2003, took on the position of CEO at Biotec in May 2009 in a bid to spearhead the company’s next phase of growth.

Keren is a highly experienced pharmaceutical and general management professional with particular technical expertise in clinical drug development and a background in both the research-based pharmaceutical industry and the pharmaceutical services sector.  She is also internationally recognised as an expert in clinical supplies legislation and practice.

Ravi Nalliah joined the company as Financial Controller at the end of quarter one this year and has been fundamental in managing the growth of Biotec over the past 9 months. Ravi joined Biotec from Broomfield & Alexander where he held the role of  Corporate Finance Manager.

Ed Lewis, Senior Project Manager, has also been promoted to the position of Head of Project Management.  Ed joined Biotec in January 2009 and has impressed the board of directors by making a noticeable impact on the efficiency of the Project Management Team.

Fiona Withey, Business Development Director said: “We have ambitious plans to grow Biotec from £3 million turnover per annum to £7million by 2012, while retaining profit levels, maximising people and process efficiencies and broadening the service offering to clients.

“To achieve this, it is crucial that we have a strong and forward looking board of directors and we are confident that both Ravi and Keren’s bring huge benefits to the table.”

Biotec is a UK based Pharmaceutical Services company specialising in the import, qualified person certification, labelling, assembly, storage and worldwide distribution of clinical trial supplies for Phase I to Phase IV trials including temperature sensitive biopharmaceuticals. The company has a number of international clients for which they handle products that need to be maintained at extreme temperatures.
