Biotec is over the Moon

Staff at Biotec Services International Ltd enjoyed a visit from MP, Madeleine Moon last week when she dropped in to pay her congratulations for the company’s recent Queens Award for Excellence in International Trade.
Mrs Moon was unable to make the official award presentation in July but wanted to make a concerted effort to applaud Biotec staff personally on the receipt of such a prestigious accolade.
Chief Executive Officer, Keren Winmill said, “We were honoured that Mrs Moon took time out of her busy schedule to pay us a personal visit. We only thought that it would be a fleeting visit but we were delighted that the MP for Bridgend was able to meet and greet all members of staff and stay for a full tour of the building”.
“The visit came to a climax when Mrs Moon offered us the opportunity to use the facilities in the House of Parliament for meetings, should we need them!”
Chief Executive Officer, Keren Winmill, Business Development Director, Fiona Withey and Operations Director, Rachel Griffiths led the tour with Mrs Moon.
Madeleine Moon commented, “It was good to meet three highly qualified and skilled women working at the cutting edge of the Pharmaceutical industry based in Bridgend but providing services across the world. In receiving the Queens Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category, Biotec has received recognition of the exceptional success and growth that they have achieved over the past two years. The management and staff of the company are leading the way for Wales in the Pharmaceutical Industry”.
Biotec received the Queens Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade in April this year following a very successful business development campaign in the US, Japan and Israel in 2008.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are recognised as the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. They recognise and reward outstanding achievement by UK companies in the areas of international trade; innovation and sustainable development.
The awards are made each year by The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.
Biotec Services International Limited was established in 1997 and works on behalf of global pharmaceutical companies, many located outside the EU, looking to conduct clinical trials and market products in Europe.
