Biotec Smashes Sales Record

South Wales company, Biotec Services International Ltd, has smashed its projected sales target for 2008 within the first eight months of the year.
The company has successfully generated £1.5 million revenue between January - July 2008, to e qual total sales for 2007. The team at Biotec now believe they are on the way to achieving revenue in excess of £2.5 million before the end of the year, almost doubling the business’s 2007 sales figures.
Managing director, Marc Weinzweig, said: “Biotec is going from strength to strength and the past eight months have seen the company grow rapidly. We are currently running more than 80 drug trials for clients internationally and have the facilities to take on a great deal more I am delighted with these figures. There is little doubt that 2008 will be our best year yet.”
Biotec has seen an increase of 97% of US sales in 2008 compared to 2007 as a result of the company’s aggressive US strategy, which has included having a presence at a number of high profile conferences in the US.
Marc added: “ We have done a great deal of networking in the US which has enabled us to increase our number of enquiries from new US clients by 150%. With 45% of new business coming from North America, it is certainly the market to target. We attended a conference in San Diego last year and are off to Philadelphia in October and Atlanta in November this year.”
Although the US market is crucial to business success, Europe, Japan and Canada have also proved fruitful for the company and Biotec continues to attend key conferences and exhibitions in these regions to nurture new business leads.
The announcement of the new figures comes hot on the heels of the company’s move to its new custom-built £1.5 million facility in Bridgend. Biotec has also recently changed its name to Biotec Services International Ltd to reflect its continued growth of clients internationally, particularly in the USA, Canada, Israel and Japan.
