Bridgend based, Biotec Services International Ltd has recruited Ravi Nalliah from Broomfield & Alexander to the newly created position of Financial Controller and Ed Lewis to the Operations Team as Senior Project Manager following a very successful 2008.

Senior Management at Biotec made the decision that the recruitment of a financial controller was required after the company experienced massive expansion and growth last year.

In 2008, Biotec’s sales record exceeded all expectations, resulting in a turnover in excess of £3million; 140% increase in export sales; 152% increase in US sales and more than 100% increase in revenue.

Ravi joins Biotec from a leading independent firm of chartered accountants, Broomfield & Alexander, where he held the position of Corporate Finance Manager. His role included formulating strategic business plans and financial projections for clients, assisting with credit control, cash flow management, budgeting and restructuring and reviewing the management of accounts as well as managing the corporate finance department.

Marc Weinzweig, Managing Director for Biotec said, “Biotec is currently expanding at an exponential rate that we are in need of someone who has the skills to control and maintain our existing accounts as well as having the capability to take it forward”.

“We have developed a strategic marketing plan for the continued expansion of Biotec over the next few years, and we are keen to work with Ravi to implement the strategy”.

Ravi commented, “I am delighted to move into the role of financial controller for Biotec and am really looking forward to the new challenges that the role will bring. The company is expanding so rapidly that it will be a very exciting and dynamic environment to work in.”

Biotec also welcomes Ed Lewis to the team as a Senior Project Manager. Ed joins Biotec from Penn Pharmaceutical Services and has many years’ experience in the project management of high value, complex clinical trials and commercial contract manufacturing projects for businesses in Europe, US and Asia.

In 2008 Biotec enjoyed a move to its large new custom-built £1.5 million facility in Bridgend which provides a great deal more space to meet the needs of its growing client base. The company also changed its name to Biotec Services International Ltd to reflect its continued growth of clients internationally, particularly in the USA, Canada, Israel and Japan.
